Privacy Policy

KushmaBazar is a community-run online marketplace currently operated on a voluntary, non-commercial basis for the residents of Kushma, Parbat, Nepal. We are not a registered company at this stage. You may contact us at kushmabazaar@gmail.com for any privacy-related concerns.

We collect only the minimum information required to operate the marketplace:

• Listing submissions: Title, description, category, price, contact details (name, phone/email), and any images you voluntarily upload.
• Contact form messages: Your name, email address, and message content when you use our contact form.
• In-app messages: Messages sent between buyers and sellers via our built-in messaging feature. Stored securely and shared only with the relevant parties.
• Automatic technical data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). We do not use third-party analytics cookies at this time.

• To publish and display your listings on the marketplace.
• To enable communication between buyers and sellers.
• To respond to your contact form inquiries.
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, or abuse.
• To improve the performance and features of the platform.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Airtable — our database provider (airtable.com/privacy)
• Vercel — our hosting provider (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
• Pusher — real-time messaging infrastructure (pusher.com/legal/privacy-policy)

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, consistent with Nepal's Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (Section 47).

We encourage you not to share sensitive financial information (e.g. bank account numbers) through the platform.

We use a single functional cookie (kb_admin) only for admin authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Regular visitors have no cookies placed on their device.

Under the Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) of Nepal, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to our legitimate operational needs).
• Withdraw consent for use of your information at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant Nepali authority if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

KushmaBazar is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of KushmaBazar after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
